We can count them: one, two, three…
They have a plural (-s) and we can use a / an: an apple, a carrot.
🚫 Uncountable nouns
We can't count them with numbers:
No plural, no a / an. We count the containers: two cartons of milk.

Look at the sentences. What do you notice?
Read and listen. Look at the blue and red words. When do we say is and when are? When some and when any?

✅ = positive sentence, ❌ = negative sentence. Choose is / are / isn't / aren't and some / any.
Containers: a bottle of water
We can't count milk or flour — but we can count cartons and packets! Listen and repeat.
Look at the picture. What is in each container? Choose the container and the food.

Student A: write 8 things from the list on paper. Don't show it! Student B: ask questions and find the 8 things. Set the timer to 2 minutes. Then swap.
